New Zealand: Earthquake 01

It's Sticky! What Is It?!

If you're looking for my fanfiction, fanart, podfics or fanmixes, head over to kiwiana_inked or come find me on Archive Of Our Own.

This journal is mostly friends only, except for the odd public post - which is usually something I want to leave open for discussion. I love making new friends! Just drop a comment here :) If I friended you, then clearly you seem awesome.

If you do decide to add me, here's what you might want to know:
♥ I prefer to go by MJ, but I'll answer to pretty much any variation on my name or my username. I'm 24, and I'm a New Zealander (with something of an Australian accent which is totally my father's fault), so sometimes I use words and terms that are pretty unique to Down Under. If you don't understand something, just ask! I don't mind XD
♥ My journal is very, very broad - I ramble about everything from fandom to real life to politics to everything in between. I'm pretty staunch in my opinions but I love debating with people, so please don't ever feel afraid to offer a different viewpoint to mine.
♥ I love music (I play a variety of instruments, including cello, keyboard, drums, alto saxophone, and I also sing), reading, watching movies, I LOVE Broadway shows, and I'm a sucker for extreme sports (bungee jumping, skydiving etc).
♥ I'm horribly, horribly addicted to Coca-Cola.
♥ I'm a burlesque and pin-up model, a writer/poet, an actor, a singer, and a dreamer.
♥ I'm somewhat addicted to tattoos.
♥ I love my friends! I try to comment as often as possible, and I can't wait to get to know you guys :)

You taste like sunlight and strawberry bubblegum

So, I signed up for spn_j2_bigbang despite the fact that I haven't written in that fandom in, like, two and a half years. But plot bunnies, man, the little bastards keep gnawing at me.

Also, you know what's hard? Planning a wedding. Goddamn. 235 days to go.

Oh, and just because I'm bored:

Ask me questions. One or five or ten, I don't care! Anything and everything. I'll film myself giving the answers and post the result.

Honey, can't you trust me? When I want to stop, I can

An update to this post. Basically, I BRING YOU FUCKING PICTURES. Which, as an aside, is one of the fucking incredible things about Dresden Dolls/Amanda Fucking Palmer fans. I have always had the best experiences at these concerts, and that's as much to do with fellow fans as it is to do with Amanda. People are amazing. And to highlight this, these photos come courtesy of someone on Twitter, who tracked me down via people's concert-related tweets to offer me the photos she'd taken while I was on stage. Incredible. x

The splinters are painful but she doesn't feel it

This was my night:

-Go to the FINAL NIGHT of the Dresden Dolls tour, in Wellington. sendthewolves is up, yay I've missed her, yay Dresden Dolls, awesomeness all around.
-Feeling a bit blah, so manage to grab a seat on the speaker at the front of the stage. Not only do I have a perfect unobstructed view, but I don't have to stand for three hours.
-The show is fucking perfect.
-Near the end, Brian Viglione wants to play Slide. Amanda Palmer can't remember the lyrics. "Who has an iPhone?" she asks. "I do," I say, and next thing I'm up on stage to pull up the lyrics from the Dresden Dolls website and sit beside her piano to prompt her if she needs it.
-Brian Viglione tells me I'm "dressed perfectly". I swoon inwardly whilst trying to be calm and normal and shit outwardly. Not sure if I succeeded.
-While she's scribbling down some of the lyrics, Amanda asks if I'm from Wellington. I tell her I've just moved here from Christchurch. "Wow, that's a complicated thing to get into," she says. I nod and turn around to show her my Christchurch cathedral tattoo. She flails over it for a while, and also talks about how surreal it was for her when she was in Christchurch earlier this week.
-They play Slide. I am sitting on stage trying not to cry. Amanda only needs prompting once.
-Amanda blows me a kiss as I jump offstage and back onto my speaker afterwards. She is gorgeous.
-Waiting in line for the meet and greet afterwards, many people comment on my tattoo. Great conversations are had.
-During meet and greet, I say something about how I have two Dresden Dolls-related tattoos, and yet everyone is commenting on the cathedral. She asks to see, and I show her. "Fucking awesome," she says, and gives me a kiss right on the mouth. I try not to swoon.
-Brian gives me a giant hug and a kiss right on the corner of my mouth. Tells me I look fucking amazing, again. I probably fail at not swooning this time.
-Later, in a bar, I realise I have, through a degree of separation, also kissed Neil Gaiman. I consider never washing my mouth again.

Trick or treat!

In honour of All Hallow's Eve, I'm inviting trick-or-treaters to my 'door.' Comment "trick-or-treat" to this post and...well, you know the drill. Treats can be anything that strikes my fancy (pics of fave actors or pairings, one sentence fics, graphics, a few words why I'm glad to have you on my flist, etc. etc.). The more "houses" to visit the more fun it'll be, so go ahead, open your journal and help spread the fun!
